Scottsdale Sister Cities Association FAOT

February 13 @ 7:00 pm

Exceptional musicians from the Festival Alfonso Ortiz Tirado (FAOT) in Alamos will be performing at the ASU Kerr. For those unfamiliar, FAOT Alamos is Mexico’s largest music festival, drawing around 100,000 attendees over nine days. Hosted by the Sonoran Institute of Culture, the festival is collaborating with Scottsdale Sister Cities to bring FAOT Alamos performers to Scottsdale.

The Institute has chosen tenor Christopher Roldan, soprano Rosa Maria Davila, and concert pianist Emmanuel Sabas to bring the spirit of FAOT Alamos to Scottsdale. Roldan and Davila are award-winning musicians from the festival.

Roldan is part of the show “The 3 International Tenors” in the United States and has sung with the Green Valley Concert Band in Green Valley, Arizona, in addition to giving concerts of Mexican music for the Mexican Consulate in Arizona. Rosa Dávila is an outstanding Mexican soprano.  She has her degree form the University of Sonora.  She made her international debut at the Palau de Les Arts in Valencia, Spain, where she performed the roles of Dama di Lady Macbeth in Verdi’s “Macbeth” and the title role in Pauline Viardot’s opera “Cendrillon.”

Scottsdale is honored to have these outstanding young and up-and-coming Sorona based musicians perform here.
