DESCRIPTION:The Sonoran Dogs were initially formed in 2011 to accompany Japanese guitarist Maro Kawabata on a tour across Arizona. Following these initial performances\, their musical journey expanded throughout the Southwest and around the world. Renowned for their fusion of traditional\, progressive and original music\, “The Dogs” have developed a distinctive and crowd-pleasing bluegrass and roots sound. \n\n\n\nThe band’s lineup includes singer-songwriter Peter McLaughlin\, who won the Winfield National Flatpicking Guitar Championship in 1988. Mark Miracle is celebrated for his exceptional lead vocals\, harmony abilities and mastery of the mandolin. Tyler James anchors the group on banjo\, having been the 2008 Rockygrass Banjo Champion and a finalist at the 2012 Winfield National Banjo Championship. SUMMARY:ASU Kerr Tuesday Morning Music & Tea- Flyin' Winds
DESCRIPTION:ASU Flyin’ Winds \n\n\n\nASU faculty members Elizabeth Buck\, Heather Landes\, Albie Micklich\, and Michael Kocour perform a unique program combining classical and jazz music. The performance will feature a variety of styles\, from salsa to waltz\, with alto flute\, bassoon\, flute\, piccolo\, and jazz piano. \n\n\n\nCo-presented with ASU School of Music \n\n\n\nTea events are part of a series of free\, informal presentations featuring musicians from the ASU School of Music. We encourage patrons to contribute a suggested donation of $5 and bring a can of food or sealed personal item to be donated to Vista del Camino Food Bank. \n\n\n\nTea and refreshments are served in the Crescendo Garden at 9:30 a.m.Event begins at 10:30 a.m. \n\n\n\nRSVPs open two weeks prior to this event: October 29 at 10:30 a.m. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThis is a hybrid program.
