Coffee at Kerr - virtual edition
co-presented with Arizona Opera
Our Coffee at Kerr series will continue through our 2020-2021 season and feature virtual lectures designed to enhance your understanding of the music, themes and history behind opera. Join us for a free livestreamed music and lecture series, co-presented by ASU Kerr and Arizona Opera! Each lecture will be capped off by a musical selection sung by an Arizona Opera Marion Roose Pullin Studio Artist.
Opera? Musical? What is the difference? Join Artistic Director of Music Theatre and Opera at Arizona State University Brian DeMaris as we dive into the invention of the American musical. In this presentation we will learn about the history of musical theatre and where it came from, including operetta, minstrelsy, Vaudeville, and early musical comedy. The presentation will conclude with a live performance from one of the Marion Roose Pullin Arizona Opera Studio Artists.
Tuesday Morning Music and Tea and Coffee at Kerr are proudly presented as a community service, but these series are not presented without cost. Your gift of support helps ASU Kerr continue to provide these and other community services at low or no cost to you and your neighbors.
You can help ensure the future of this and other community programs at ASU Kerr. Please stop by the Kerr box office or call Julianne Mate at 480-965-1910 for more information.
