Curated by renowned violinist and composer Nokuthula Ngwenyama, exclusively for ASU Kerr, “Composers’ Choice” stands as the sole annual program in Phoenix dedicated entirely to contemporary composers.

Apryl Allen, a multifaceted artist excelling as a composer, author, playwright, Comanche storyteller, vocalist, songwriter, actor and musician, will be joined by the Phoenix Boys Choir. Together, they will provide a tantalizing preview of her expansive Comanche stage musical “ShapeShifter.” Ngwenyama has artfully arranged and scored the musical, with melodies, music, lyrics and the book composed by Allen.
