The Sonoran Dogs were initially formed in 2011 to accompany Japanese guitarist Maro Kawabata on a tour across Arizona. Following these initial performances, their musical journey expanded throughout the Southwest and around the world. Renowned for their fusion of traditional, progressive and original music, “The Dogs” have developed a distinctive and crowd-pleasing bluegrass and roots sound.
The band’s lineup includes singer-songwriter Peter McLaughlin, who won the Winfield National Flatpicking Guitar Championship in 1988. Mark Miracle is celebrated for his exceptional lead vocals, harmony abilities and mastery of the mandolin. Tyler James anchors the group on banjo, having been the 2008 Rockygrass Banjo Champion and a finalist at the 2012 Winfield National Banjo Championship. The newest member of The Dogs is Joelle Tambe-Ebot, who contributes outstanding skills on bass, lead vocals and harmony vocals.
